My name is Lila Castaneda, I'm an analog film photographer currently based in Phoenix, Arizona.
I work mainly with small & medium format + silver gelatin printing.

My work primarily focuses on organic, simple imagery. I like to explore the idea of the 'Self' as multidimensional and illusive by elevating 'the ordinary'. There's a motivation to creating subconsciously driven work that touches on themes of domesticity, femininity, tension within the Self, and the preservation of the self and others.

I will continue to explore making work that explores identity within this natural world and beyond.

My favorite artists include Sally Mann, Jo Ann Callis, and Nan Goldin.
